An Englishman’s home is his castle! The unique Kachere Kastle, situated on the sandy shores of Lake Malawi is a calm haven; a place to escape and relax. Come and see for yourself … Russ and Kate fell in love with Malawi and then each other, later making Kachere their home. They both shared a dream – that of a castle on the shores of the beautiful Lake Malawi. 

Many community partnerships were formed to realise this dream; drawing on local skills and craftsmen to plan, build and furnish this astonishing building. Working with Kachere Villagers was fundamental to Russ and Kate, and many of those that worked on the building are now part of their staff. The dream finally became a reality with the opening of Kachere Kastle on 9th December 2016.  The castle’s drawbridge was officially lowered to welcome guests by Kate’s Mum on the occasion of her 80th birthday,
