John’s Camp is named after the renowned Safari Guide, John Stevens and it is a semi-permanent tented camp situated in Mana Pools. The 6 safari tents are erected every season along the banks of the Zambezi River in one of the national parks campsites. It’s simple, authentic safari styled accommodation is in a beautiful setting, along with talented guides, good food and great service this is a camp that will exceed all expectations and create a memorable safari experience.

Six meru styled tents over-look the floodplain at Mana Pools so offer gorgeous views from all angles. Each of the tents have en-suite bathrooms and an overhanging safari-styled bucket shower, you really do get a sense of being in the heart of the bush. The tents are small, simple but offer an authentic and personal safari feel. Each spaced out so offer privacy to those staying, and with just 12 beds this is a wonderful place to enjoy an intimate safari experience.

There is no better way to explore the bush than on foot, and here in Mana Pools with the relaxed atmosphere and the wildlife around you will be sure to have some incredibly special and memorable encounters. The guides are well trained and professional, so you are in good hands, they have a reputation for walking safaris so if you wish to enjoy this special activity then make sure you get one booked in at Johns Camp when visiting.

This is such a wonderful treat and a lovely addition to your stay at John’s Camp. Delicious meals are prepared in the main camp and then taken over to an area within the park where the team will set up everything for you. Dine in breath-taking settings, overlooking the Zambezi River or over the floodplain itself. Surrounded by the wilderness, lots of birdlife around and you never know who or what you may encounter, a rustic 5* dining experience right in the middle of the African bush.
