You will do your unforgettable South Luangwa safari from the comfort of the Lion Camp, and spend your 3 nights exploring the areas around Lion Camp by open 4-wheel drive vehicle.
Lion Camp is a stylish, unique and independent lodge accommodating up to 18 guests. It is located in one of the best game viewing areas of the South Luangwa National and away from other lodges and camps, which means that you are likely to enjoy your South Luangwa safari without many other guests or vehicles around. The lodge looks out onto an open grassland which is frequented by grazing mammals during day time, and becomes a hunting ground for lions by night.
Accommodation at Lion Camp will be in luxury canvas and thatch chalets which are built on raised wooden platforms. All chalets are linked to each other and the main area by a raised wooden light boardwalk. The chalets have either four poster king side double beds or twin beds, each with a walk in mosquito net. They are all en-suite with showers and toilets, and each has a private deck overlooking the open plain in front of the lodge.
Besides morning drives and walking safaris, you will also go on afternoon/evening game drives. The game drive usually takes about 3 to 4 hours. Sundowners are usually served at around sunset along the LuangwaRiver, giving you clear views of the African sun as it sets after which, you continue with your game drive in search of nocturnal animals. This will return after dark in time for dinner. You will be at Lion Camp for 3 nights after which you will head out to the Lower Zambezi where you will stay at Kasaka River Camp for your last 3 nights in Zambia.
